Daktacort cream uses and benefits are described below. 

  • This anti-fungal Daktacort cream is used to treat fungal infections caused on the skin. 
  • The fungal infections include candida and ringworm infection. 
  • It is also used to treat inflamed skin conditions like dermatitis, atopic eczema, contact allergic eczema, seborrheic eczema, and its associated acne.
  • The cream is also used to treat rash and inflammation occurring on the skin of adults and babies as well.

Composition:

The composition of Daktacort cream is given below:

  1. Miconazole nitrate (2% w/w).
  2. Hydrocortisone (1% w/w).
  3. Benzoic acid.
  4. Butylated hydroxyanisole.
  5. Macrogol ester.
  6. Liquid paraffin.
  7. Oleoyl macroglycerides.
  8. Disodium edetate.

The active ingredients are Miconazole nitrate and Hydrocortisone. Miconazole nitrate works by destroying fungus, yeasts, and associated bacteria, if there is any.

Hydrocortisone reduces the inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling occurred at the site of infection. It is a topical steroid.It is used to treat skin infections such as Athlete's foot, Jock itch, Ringworm, Tinea versicolor (a fungus that discolors the skin), and Yeast infections of the skin.

Dosage:

Dry the infected area before applying. Apply a thin layer of cream and absorb it. Apply two to three times a day. It is advisable not to exceed the prescribed dosage. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after usage. If there is no improvement in the infection, consult the doctor and stop usage.
