Montika tablets are used for asthma patients and belong to anti-leukotriene class of drugs. This class of drugs treats against leukotriene receptors hence named ‘antagonist drugs’. They are used by asthma patients to prevent an asthma attack. The medication reduces the inflammation to prevent broncho-constriction and ensures easy breathing.

Composition

The active ingredient of the montika tablet is ‘Montelukast’. Montelukast treats by working against leukotriene D4 receptors. The active ingredient stops the release of certain chemicals in the lungs.

Uses

Montika tablets 10mg uses are described below. 

  • The medicine is used to treat shortness of breath suffered by asthma patients.
  • Montika tablets are used to treat the narrowing of lungs muscles caused due to excessive exercise.
  • The medicine is used to treat swollen and narrowed airways causing shortness of breath.
  • The medicine is used to treat bronchospasm.
  • The medicine is used to reduce asthma attacks.
  • Montika tablets are also used for allergies or irritation in the eyes, nose, and throat.

It is used to Control and Prevent symptoms caused by Asthma, such as Wheezing and Shortness of breath.

Dosage

The recommended montika tablet dosage is 10mg tablet for adults, and montika tablet 5 mg is for children. Take only one tablet per day or according to the doctor's prescription. Do not overdose yourself as it leads to severe side effects.

Serious side effects includes, Numbness/Tingling/Shooting pain in the arms or legs, Sinus pain/Swelling, Muscle weakness, Uncontrolled muscle movements, Stuttering or Allergic reactions.
