Nevanac eyes drops are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These NSAIDs work by inhibiting the release of pain-producing molecules known as prostaglandins. The drops come with the generic name of 'nepafenac ophthalmic.' 

Components

The nevanac eye drops formula is based upon the following ingredients.

  • The active ingredient is nepafenac.

The inactive ingredients are: 

  • Benzalkonium chloride.
  • Carbomer.
  • Disodium edetate.
  • Mannitol.
  • Purified water.
  • Sodium chloride.
  • Tyloxapol.

Uses

Steps to use

Follow the step-by-step description below to use nevanac eye drops

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before using the drops.
  2. Open the bottle cap by twisting it.
  3. Hold the nevanac bottle between your thumb and fingers such that it is pointing downwards.
  4. Move your head back.
  5. Pull the lower eyelid down such that there is the formation of a pocket between eyelid and eye.
  6. Bring the tip of the bottle close to your eye and gently press on the bottom.
  7. Putt 1 drop of nevanac in your eyes.
  8. Avoid touching the bottle to your eyes to avoid infection.

Dosage

The dosage is recommended according to the symptoms and condition of the eyes. The prescribed nevanac eye drops dosage is 1 drop per eye 3 times a day. Start the treatment before one day of surgery and continue it for as long as your doctor recommends. 

If excessive drops get into your eyes, wash the eye with lukewarm water. Avoid missing and exceeding the recommended dose.
