Caricef tablets belong to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics. It comes with the generic name of ‘Cefixime trihydrate’. The caricef tablets comes under broad-spectrum antibiotics working against several bacterial infections.

Composition

The caricef tablet formula contains the cefixime trihydrate as the active ingredient. It works by blocking the cell wall synthesis of bacteria. Binding with the proteins essential for cell wall synthesis inhibits its formation and ultimately kills the bacteria.

Dosage

The dose is recommended according to the patient’s symptoms, age, weight, and medical history. The recommended caricef tablet dosage for adults is 200mg t0 400mg divided in 2 doses once a day.
The recommended dose for children is 6mg to 12mg per kg of body weight divided in 2 doses.
