Cefiget capsule is an antibiotic. The generic name of this capsule is Cefixime trihydrate, as it is composed of Cefixime. It is used to treat bacterial infections, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis.

Uses

The Cefiget capsule is used for infections which are caused by bacteria. The drug is indicated for the patient who is having an infection in the urinary tract, soft tissues, respiratory tract, skin, and biliary tract.

The antibiotic in it is used to treat bacterial infection only, but it is not used for a viral infection such as cough, flu, or cold. It works by stopping the bacteria from growing.

Dosage

The dosage of Cefiget capsule is based on the patient's condition and to react to the treatment. In children, the dosage is based on their weight.

• The dosage recommended for an adult is 200-400 mg every day according to the condition or the infection, which can be taken as a single dose or in two separation dosages.

Cefiget capsule can be taken with or without food as recommended by a doctor, normally once in a day.

• For the urethral gonococcal infection: 400 mg of a single oral portion or dose is recommended.
• The dosage for children: 8 mg of the suspension is recommended. It can be taken as a single dose of divided into two portions, like 4mg in 12 hours.
• 6 months-1 year recommendation: 3.75 ml every day.
• For 1–4-years children: 5 ml every day.
• For 5-10 years children: 10 ml daily.
