Use with caution in blood disease and hepatic disease. It might interfere with blood clotting, so some researchers worry that it might make bleeding disorders worse. If you have a bleeding disorder, check with your healthcare provider before using serrapeptase. The use of this medicine should be stopped at least 10-14 days before a scheduled surgery as it may increase the risk of bleeding during and/or after the procedure. This medicine should be used with caution if you are consuming food items like fish oil, garlic, and turmeric. Some medications that slow blood clotting include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, warfarin (Coumadin).
