Dermosporin 1% 20ML Soln

The Dermosporin solution treats fungal infections in the ear, mouth, vagina, and skin.

The ingredient which is used in this solution is Clotrimazole, and the generic category of this medicine is anti-fungal, which is used to treat fungal infections.

Uses

• The medicine is an anti-fungal drug that is used to treat the infection in the mouth, skin, and yeast infections in the vagina.
• However, it is usually used for the athlete's foot, oral thrush, jock itch and body ringworm.
• The medicine is used for all types of fungal skin infections like infection of the vulva. It is also used for ear infections and fungal infections of the outer and middle ear.
• Moreover, the medication is used to treat candidiasis and treat a skin condition called pityriasis, which is a fungal infection that causes a darkening and lightening of the skin of the legs, neck, and arm.

How does it work

• The ingredient in it is Clotrimazole, which is an azole antifungal, and it works by preventing and controlling the growth of the fungus.
• This drug works by blocking and stopping the synthesis in the cell membrane of the fungi, which may lead to the underlying dysfunction of fungi.
• However, it also damages the cell membrane of the Fungai and limits its growth.

Dosage 

Dosage for the oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush) treatment 

Transmucosal dosage

Dosage for adults: 10 mg PO five times in a day for seven to fourteen days.

Dosage for Adolescents and Children (for age three to seventeen): 10 mg PO five times a day daily for seven to fourteen days.

For the treatment of tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis.

The topical dosage is

Use this drug twice a day.

Dosage for Adolescents and Children: (for the age 2 to 17 years)

Use it twice a day. (in the morning and in the evening).

Dermosporin solution in pregnancy 

The use of this drug for pregnant women should only be required if it's recommended by the doctors because it may be dangerous for the baby and the health of mothers too.

While breastfeeding

It is very important to consult a doctor before using this drug as it may pass through the milk and might not be safe for babies.
