It used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis, or inflamed anus or rectum, and to maintain remission in Crohn's disease.

Precautions

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug. Caution is advised while using this medicine in patients with active peptic ulcer disease due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
