  • Meronem inj indicated for the treatment of complicated peritonitis and appendicitis that can appear due to viridian's group streptococci, Pepto streptococcus species, klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacteroides fragilis, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and b. thetaiotaomicron. In these situations, it acts as a single agent therapy.
  • It is also indicated as a single agent therapy to treat bacterial meningitis that can be caused by the Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria meningitides.
  • It is used as a single agent therapy for the treatment of complicated skin infections. It is also used to treat skin structure infections. These infections can be caused due to aureus that is known as methicillin-susceptible isolate only.

Dosage

Meronem inj dosage for adults and pediatrics are as follows.

For adults: meronem inj powder solution of 500mg/vial. 1g/vial is assigned for the adults.

For pediatrics: meronem inj dosage usually remains the same as for adults. But you should consult our doctor before giving it to a child.

If a patient mis the meronem inj dosage, then he/she should take it as soon as they come to know. In case of overdosage, some of the side effects symptoms may occur. if any of the symptoms persist or get worsen, you should seek medical help.
