Scab-free lotion belongs to the medications called Scabicidal Agents or Pediculicides. The generic name of this product is Permethrin. It is primarily used to get rid of the mites and insecticides present in the scalp or any other skin area. It is used on the external side only. It works by paralyzing and killing the mites, lice, and nits.  It helps in eradicating the mites from their roots. 

Uses

The primary use of this ointment is to get rid of head lice, pubic lice or scabies. It also helps to avoid lice infestation. The results are visible only after one wash, and often you do not need to use the product twice. 

This medication is used to treat scabies.

Dosage Consideration

This medication is considered safe to be used on children over two years.

To treat scabies in adults or children, the medication should be used in the following way:

• Apply the cream to your whole body from head to toe.
• Leave the cream for at least 8 to 14 hours.
• And after that, wash the whole body.
• Reapply the cream after a week or so in case the mites reappear.
• Usually, a one-time application is curative.

To treat head lice in adults or children, use the lotion in the following way:

• Wash the hair and then apply the lotion to the wet hair and leave it for 10 minutes.
• Wash the hair again after 10 minutes and comb the hair.
• Combining will help to get rid of nits and eggs.
• Apply the lotion after a week if you did not get rid of the lice in one go.

This product is easily available at every pharmacy in Pakistan. It is not an expensive product. This product can also be purchased through online sites. One bottle of scab-free lotion contains 60ml of the product. This product can be purchased without the prescription, but the doctor should be referred first to treat severe conditions in adults. Moreover, do not use the product on children without consulting the doctor.
