To get rid of mild to moderate or even severe fungal infections, an anti-agent or anti-fungal cream proves to be beneficial. Travocort cream is a widely used anti-fungal agent for yeast and fungal infections; ringworm, dermatophytosis, jock itch, fungal nappy rash.

Travocort cream contains two active ingredients 

Isoconazole nitrate and Diflucortolone valerate

Uses

Fungal infections start to occur in moist places of the body; feet, between the toes, moist hands, or genital area. Most common fungal infections are caused by yeast. E.g., Candida or Malassezia, or dermatophytes. Travocort cream is an anti-fungal cream that is used to stop the growth of fungus on the human body.

Isoconazole nitrate treats fungal diseases of the skin, and Diflucortolone valerate suppresses inflammation of the skin and gets rid of itching. It is used to treat various diseases like: 

  • Fungal infections of hairless and hairy skin. Regions of the hands, feet, between the toes, and the inguinal and genital regions.
  • Eczematous skin conditions
  • Ringworm (tinea corporis)
  • Dermatophytosis
  • Jock itch
  • Yeast Infection
  • Fungal nappy rash
  • Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
  • Cutaneous Candidiasis
  • Onychomycosis (tinea unguium)

For Baby Rash

Travocort cream may be used for Baby rash if the rash is of fungal infection. 

For Thrush

Travocort cream is not recommended for Oral Thrush (oropharyngeal candidiasis) as it is applied superficially and topically only. Therefore, it is recommended for Vaginal Thrush. 

How to use Travocort cream?

Travocort cream is applied at the site of fungal infection. It could be moist hands, feet, between the toes, or inguinal or genital areas. 

  • Consult your doctor before using this cream for the duration of the treatment.
  • Always wash your hands before applying Travocort cream to the infected area. 
  • Travocort cream should be applied two times in a day. 
  • Travocort cream is a topical cream; therefore, it should be applied superficially. 
  • It should be applied in a thin layer at the site of application. 
  • The treatment should be stopped if the condition of fungal infection is cured.

Contraindications

  • Travocort cream is not recommended for those who are allergic to Travocort cream ingredients such as Isoconazole Nitrate or Diflucortolone- valerate or any other ingredients of this medicine. 
  • Travocort cream should not be applied to those areas which are cut or wounded or having blood oozing out of it. 
  • Travocort cream should not be applied to skin lesions or areas that are associated with Tuberculosis or syphilis.
  • Travocort cream should not be applied to any skin inflammation near the mouth. 
  • Travocort cream should not be applied to those patients who already have any viral infection going on. E.g., Herpes, shingles. 

Formula 

Travocort Cream contains isoconazole nitrate (1-[2,4-dichloro-β-(2,6-dichlorobenzyloxy)-phenethyl]- imidazole, nitrate) 10 mg and diflucortolone valerate (6α,9-difluoro-11β-hydroxy-21-valeryloxy-16α-methyl- 1,4-pregna-diene-3,20-dione) 1 mg in an easy-to-remove low fat base oil water emulsion.

How to Store Travocort cream?

Do not store above 30c. 

Do not expose it to light, moisture, or excessive heat. 

Keep it out of reach of children.

  7. An allergic skin reaction can happen.
  8. Skin atrophy may occur – Thinning of the skin.
  9. Folliculitis may occur
  10. Hypertrichosis – increased body hair growth
