Xcept tablet is used to prevent blood clotting. It eliminates the risk of getting a stroke by maintaining a healthy blood flow. It is used with a combination of aspirin and reduces the risk of heart diseases. It comes in tablet form only. The generic name of this drug is Rivaroxaban.

Uses of Xcept Tablet

Xcept tablet is a blood thinner. This tablet prevents and treats blood clotting and prevents you from getting diseases such as pulmonary embolisms. It also keeps you safe from getting a stroke. This tablet is also effective in preventing chronic heart diseases such as heart attack, stroke.

How does the tablet work?

Xcept tablets belong to the class of medicines known as anticoagulants. These medicines block the Xa factor. Excess of factor Xa releases the hormone called thrombin which is responsible for blood clotting.

Blood clotting is the major reason behind many heart diseases such as stroke, heart attack and many other chronic diseases. Xcept tablets block thrombin activity, the hormone responsible for blood clotting, and hence reduces the risk of getting these diseases. It is used to treat Thrombotic disorders and prevent Blood Clots.

Dosage

Do not prescribe the medication to others. Take medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Do not increase the dosage on your own. This medication shouldn’t be used for longer periods as it is a blood thinner.
Keep yourself checked to know about your progress. In case you do not see any clear change, inform the doctor immediately. This medication should only be taken after having a meal.
In case you are taking the medication once a day, and you missed taking the dose at the required time. Take the dosage as soon as you remember it. Do not double the dose without a doctor's consultation.
In case you are taking medicine twice a day, and you missed taking a dose. You can take both doses at the same time.

This medication is easily available in Pakistan. It is not a costly product. One pack of Xcept tablets contains 14 tablets, 7 tablets per strip. Each tablet contains 10mg, 15mg or 20mg of Rivaroxaban.

Use with caution having Liver disease, Kidney disease, Bleeding problems, Stroke, Recent major injury or surgery, Anemia, Hemophilia, Thrombocytopenia, Retinopathy, Galactose intolerance, Glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Side Effects

Side-effects vary from person to person. Some people might experience mild side effects. Others may experience serious side effects. Some of the most common side-effects of these tablets are as follows.

Since the medicine is a blood thinner, you may experience bleeding after getting minor cuts or bruises or taking longer to stop the blood. In case of excessive bleeding or sudden nosebleed, seek medical assistance immediately.
Heavier menstrual blood flow, or you may experience longer periods than usual. In case you won't stop bleeding after 9 days, inform the doctor.
Darker coloured urine or blood in the urine makes the urine appear slightly pink.
Irritable bowel syndrome or dark coloured stools.
Feeling of nausea or vomiting all the time.
Spitting up blood or Haemoptysis. Nosebleed and bleeding from cuts may increase.
