Actifed P Tablet is used for the common cold, for allergies like Nasal congestion and upper respiratory allergies, for headaches, for Sinus pressure and congestion.

The tablet contains some of the active ingredients, which are Triprolidine HCL, Paracetamol, and Pseudoephedrine HCL.

Uses

  • The Actifed P Tablet is used to prevent, control, and treat the cold, flu, cough, Upper respiratory symptoms, hay, and fever.
  • The tablet is used to treat breathing problems or illnesses like bronchitis, sinusitis. 
  • The tablet helps to relieve an itchy nose, throat, and eyes, watery eyes, runny nose, and sneezing.
  • However, the ingredient Decongestants in it used to treat and help to relieve ear congestion symptoms and stuffy nose.
  • Moreover, the tablet is also used for the allergies like respiratory allergies.

How does it work

  • The tablet works by blocking the activity of the histamine receptor and stimulate the alpha-adrenergic receptors.
  • This, however, expands the threshold of pain, builds the blood and its flow across the skin, sweating, and heat loss too.

How to use 

  • The tablet is used as directed by the doctor. It is important for the patient to read all the instructions given on the leaflet of the tablet.
  • It is advised to take tablet by mouth and with water. The tablet should be taken with food; if any stomach upset occurs so drink plenty of water or fluids.
  • Do not crush or chew the tablet. It should be swollen properly with water.

Dosage 

Dosage for adults and children with the age of 12 years: take on the tablet of Actifed P for every 4 hours. It is advised not to take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.

The dosage may increase or decrease according to the condition of the patient.

It is advised to take medicine with a full glass of water.

Dosage for children: The medicine is not prescribed for children age under 12 years as it may cause death due to the misuse of the cold and cough medicine for young kids.
