Avelox is a prescribed medication. Avelox medicine's generic name is moxifloxacin HCL and is a synthetic antibacterial agent for oral administration. It belongs to the medicine category of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones.

Avelox tablets are usually available in the form of film-coated tablets that contains moxifloxacin hydrochloride. It also contains some inactive ingredients such as lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, etc.

  • It is used to reduce the growth of drug-resistant bacteria. It is also used to maintain the effectiveness and activity of antibiotics. It is used to treat a variety of Bacterial infections.

Dosage

Avelox dosage should be taken as prescribed by the doctor as it depends on the medical condition of the patient, age, and weight. However, the usual recommended dosage is 400mg once a day.  It can be taken with or without food.
