This medicine is widely  used in the treatment of hypertension and to reduce the risk and chances of heart-related diseases and strokes. This medicine is usually prescribed to adults only and should not at all given to children.

Uses

  • Metol is used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). The frequent occurrence 

of high

  • Blood pressure, strokes, kidney problems, and heart attacks are all eliminated when the 

pressure is lowered.

  • It is also prescribed for chest pain after a heart attack and to improve survival.

Beta-blockers are a type of beta receptor blockers.

  • The medication acts as a vasoconstrictor, decreasing the effectiveness of epinephrine in your

 circulatory system.

  • When stress is reduced, this therapy has these beneficial effects on the heart.

Dosage

Children

It should not be used for children under 12 years.

For adults

The dosage is based on the condition of the patient. However, 1 tablet should be taken three times in a day as directed by the doctor. The duration depends on the sickness of the patient.

Storage

Warning

  • Keep in check your blood sugar levels and your blood pressure levels and if you experience any problem, stop using the medicine and consult your doctor. Caution is used against sharp objects such as nail cutters to avoid contact sports and reduce the risk of being cut, bruised, or hurt.
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take this medicine without a doctor's recommendation as it can severely damage the infant or reduce milk production.
  • In case you choke onto it, shift to the emergency room as soon as possible as it could block the esophagus and cause some serious complications while breathing.

This medicine do not have any significant side effects, but some of the discomforts that you might have are:

  • Dizziness
  • Stomach upset
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Headache
  • Vomiting
  • Lack of appetite or diarrhea.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed you this medicine due to your health condition, so this might not affect you but if you fa e any discomfort or an allergic reaction, stop using it and inform your doctor to change your amount of dosage or prescribe you another medicine for your health condition that suits your body type.

  • Diarrhea
