This medicine is indicated in conditions like Bacterial infections, GI infections, Long-term treatment of healed gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, Muscle relaxation (long duration) for surgery and intubation, Urinary tract infection, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Shigellosis.

It is contraindicated in Epilepsy, Convulsions and Hypersensitivity to the drug. Use with caution in patients with any pre-existing Kidney disease, Liver disease, Nervous system disorders or any Allergies to antibiotics. Don't drink milk, or take antacids or medicines containing calcium, iron or zinc in the two hours before or after taking nalidixic acid. Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
It can cause Jaundice, Hemolytic anemia, Cholestatic jaundice, Hemolytic anemia, Photosensitivity, Eosinophilia, Eosinophilia, Leucopenia, Raised intracranial pressure, Hemolytic anemia, Arthralgia.
