It is used in anaesthesia as a skeletal muscle relaxant to facilitate tracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation in surgical procedures.

This medicine should be taken with precaution if you have liver or kidney disease or angina pains in past. Tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: heart conditions (e.g., coronary artery disease, arrhythmias), high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes. Monitoring of neuromuscular function is recommended during infusion or if Suxamethonium chloride Injection is to be administered in relatively large cumulative doses over a relatively short period of time in order to individualise dosage requirements. This drug is known to cause issues during pregnancy, therefore please do not take this drug if you are pregnant. Consult your doctor or healthcare provider before using any medicines.
